Women’s Equality Day, Old House Chamber, Raleigh, Thursday, August 23. Governor gave full throated support of Equal Pay for NC women and a “shout out” to AAUW.

ERA Press Conference at Legislative Building, Raleigh Wednesday, June 27. Effort to make legislators bring ERA to a vote in last days of “short” summer session. (No vote)
ERA – Equal Rights Amendment – NC ERA Alliance meeting at Civil Right Museum, Greensboro,
- Saturday, September 22. Representatives from several women’s organizations attended.
- Collaborative planning for united strategies in effort to pass ERA in North Carolina during 2019 legislative session. (AAUW NC is a member of the ERA Alliance)
ERA Annual Meeting, Saturday, October 6 in Winston Salem.
NC Women’s Summit, Asheville, November 10 in Asheville. Co-sponsored AAUW display table with Tar Heel Branch (Christi Whitworth) for AAUW materials and membership brochures. (This was 6th annual Summit, first to meet in Western area of NC.)
NC Juvenile Literature Award, Greenville, NC, Friday, October 26. Co-Sponsored with NC Historical Society. Awarded to Carole for book
2020 Round Table – Durham, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, December 2. A group of representatives from various NC women’s organizations, convened by Marena Groll to initiate planning for North Carolina’s state-wide 2020 activities – celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment in 2020.
Next: 3rd meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 27 in Durham.
NC Justice Center. August 21 all day session for AAUW NC leaders. (21 attended) Also several conference calls with Ana Pardo in effort to set up NC Women’s issues alert network for 2019 legislative session. Requested all branches appoint a Public Policy Chair so AAUW NC is able to activate all members as needed in 2019.
