The AAUW NC 2007 summer meeting will focus on an in depth review of the information provided at the AAUW Convention in Phoenix. While we’ll have some information about structural changes at the national level, much of the material will be “news you can use” – program, membership, fundraising ideas that will be shared in the many sessions at the Convention. In addition, Mary Peterson and Sheila Bassoppo-Moyo will provide the specifics of our partnership with Action for Children and its Youth Advocacy Toolkit.
Those who are new to the AAUW NC board (including new branch presidents) and those who are interested in joining one of the teams are invited to what will be an informal orientation session on Friday evening. Of course, the continuing board members are invited to that as well so that you can explain your goals to the new members.
The hotel provides wi-fi access, so extra tech sessions demonstrating the new AAUW web site and the online member database may be scheduled on Friday afternoon if there’s interest — contact Nancy.
The board meeting will come to order at 9:00 on Saturday to cover the specific decisions that the board must make at this first meeting of the year. It is expected to be a relatively brief business session before we adjourn to the less formal discussion of updates from Phoenix and other information sharing.
More details will be posted on the e-mail list or call 866-525-2155 if you have questions.
